St. Michael Catholic School uses NWEA MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) testing to better measure and evaluate student progress throughout the school year.

RIT Scores
NWEA tests produce RIT (Rasch Unit) scores that make it possible to monitor student academic growth, and RIT charts indicate the concepts those students are ready to learn.  Click here to learn more…

Lexile Number
A Lexile is a unit for measuring text difficulty that is directly linked to the reading RIT score. Lexile is reported on an equal interval scale, like the RIT scale. 10L is on the low end and 1700L is on the high end. Books for beginning readers are listed as BR on the scale.
